Brewing a good cup of herbal tisane/tea: Brew hot or cold! The longer you steep the herbs, the more the tannins will be released (that’s the bitter taste). We prefer to add more herbs to the cup/container rather than steeping too long. Experiment to find YOUR preferred steeping time.
Hot Brew: Place the desired amount of loose-leaf herbs in a cup or teapot, and pour hot water over them to keep all the good aromatics inside! Cover the container and steep for 3 to 15 minutes (to your desired taste). Do not use boiling water, just nice hot water. Once steeped, strain with an infuser and enjoy!
Cold Brew: Place herbs in a glass jar or other suitable container and pour cold or room-temperature water over them. Cover the container and either leave it on your sink for up to 30 minutes for “sink tea” or place it covered in your refrigerator for up to 2 hours. Strain with a tea infuser and enjoy!
